The images here have been taken with a number of different cameras, mainly Leica SL, Leica M240, Leica M9, Ricoh GRD-IV or a smartphone (but not the elegant Gandolfi field camera shown on this page). I shoot in raw where possible.

I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for post processing. My goal is to reduce adjustment to a minimum by maximising quality in-camera. However, I treat post-processing as a valid tool for making better images – realism is only sometimes my aim.

I have no permanent studio, but borrow or hire venues for portraiture as required – I prefer shooting on location (indoors or outdoors). I have a mixture of Profoto and Nikon studio and speed-lights, with Elinchrom, Chimera and other modifiers.
